A MAJOR fire destroyed the majority of Agnew Timber’s machining capacity late in 2010, including two 80m/min Hydromats and an integrated mechanised line comprising a 100m/min Hydromat 2000 with infeed and outfeed.

Weinig and Irish Weinig agents, High-Tech, stepped in quickly with moulders on loan to keep production moving and replacement machines were then ordered – not only to maintain previous production levels, but to allow for future expansion and greater efficiency.

Agnew Timber of County Cavan, a family owned company was established in 1962 and managed “hands on” by Andrew and Geoffrey Agnew.
